A Celebrity Rockstar wedding is quite hard to come by nowadays and I was lucky enough to film this awesome one in one of KL’s most famous lakes. Mooky, the beloved character from the Punk rock band ONE BUCK SHORT, just got married and it was certainly a delight to see him off stage tying the knot with his significant other. Ayesha is really blessed to find a modest dude like Mooky…cos he’s one of the most ‘lepak’ and down to earth person. Seriously, rockstars are the nicest people…take it from me…hehe. It was a fabulous setting at the lake and it was very enjoyable to shoot them as the ambience was really relaxing. Mooky, keep rocking it out with the band…i’ll see you soon on stage again man! Ayesha, have a fantastic life with your man! Cheers guys!

Pre Wedding – Wee Sin and May Yee

Darn, this is actually an overdue post. I have many more posts coming. Just that I have been busy shooting, working and spending some time with my lil Eva recently. Anyway, I’m back and this is just one of my more recent pre wedding shoots. I’ve known Wee Sin a while now and he commissioned me to shoot his ROM and his dinner reception, which I will get to in another post. These are just the pre wedding shots I took at their ROM. Anyway, both Wee Sin and May Yee seem to be in really high spirits and it’s a pleasure to film couples who wanna be filmed. May Yee certainly had the flair for poses and so it wasn’t difficulty for me to tell her what to do. Wee Sin and May Yee , you guys are cool and I was awed by your dinner reception. Seriously, that had to take the cake for wedding of the year for me…for now that is All the best you guys!!

Portraits – Pei Yan and Kah Hin (Pregnancy)

A beautiful, handsome couple. That’s what sums up this post. I’ve known Pei Yan all my life and she is a sweet soul and I am very happy for her and Kah Hin as they are expecting their first baby soon. She called me up for a portrait shoot with her best friend Esther who coincidentally is also preggers…but she couldn’t make it due to unforeseen circumstances. Well, that means more pregnancy shoots coming my way! Anyway, both husband and wife are successful entrepreneurs and soon, you will see their company making headlines everywhere. I will mention about that soon on my other upcoming posts on their product launch, but for now, it’s time to celebrate Pei Yan’s pregnancy. You know what’s amazing? Pei Yan looks like she is just wearing a bump…she looks fantastic. Take a look at the pics! Pei Yan and Kah Hin, I wish you all the best! It is a life changing experience..!

Wedding – Fara and Hasif

It’s great to be shooting a Malay wedding again after a long time since I have only been shooting many beautiful Chinese weddings over the past recent months. Their wedding handed me some of the most natural shots I have recently taken. I have to say that Hasif’s a real shy guy, and I guess that’s why Fara loves him to bits. Hehe. But yeah, these two lovers are really something; one moment they could be chatting up their friends and not look at each other and then suddenly you see them at a corner whispering nothings into each other’s ears. It’s a very special relationship which I think works and their wedding day is to celebrate that. All the best to you two and enjoy your honeymoon! Selamat Pengantin Baru!

Event – Mindy’s Surprise Baby Shower

Only every once in a while, I would get calls to shoot baby showers, possibly because, they’re not really commercial enough in Malaysia yet. And this one which I covered was way different from the rest I have seen. After the food, the ladies separated themselves from the men, because they had to play games which were made only for them (taboo la konon). Yes , yes, I was shooting them so I was the only man in the room and hey, I’m a cool guy so I could take it in. The games were very cool and warmed up everyone. Especially when the men were called to come back in to the ballroom, that’s when the fun/chaos happened. Majority of the men were already tipsy, and that had alleviated the occasion to the next level. It was really fun to see them all bonding and celebrating the birth of a soon to be new baby. This goes down as one of the best baby showers I have attended. Kiren, you’re one hell of an organiser (and thanks for loving the pics)! Cheers and Congrats to Mindy!

Event – BFM 89.9 Interviews Rudy from Rudy’s Lightroom

Woohoo! It’s been a great 6 mths and what better way then to finish the first half of the year with a little subtle marketing for my venture. Two weeks back, Radio Presenter Freda Liu from BFM 89.9 had contacted me to see if I was interested in doing a talk set for her ‘Open For Business’ segment. Of course I’d said yes, as she was also a long time friend I came to know before she joined BFM. The talk set was very much simple, focusing on wedding photography that Rudy’s Lightroom caters for, as well as my alter ego in Pop Shuvit. Incidentally, Freda told me locally renowned Wedding Photographer Kid Chan was also interviewed recently on their segments.

I enjoyed the talk set very much and to my surprise had even met up with the other radio announcers in BFM who incidentally was at one of the weddings which I have shot before. Amazing coincidence. David and Noelle, friendly as they are, are just amazing people to get out of bed in the morning to listen to, irregardless how dry some topics can be

Anyway, as many interviews I have done with Pop Shuvit, this was personally a first for me as an individual for my own venture. Check out the interview at 10am possibly in the week after next. I am a Nikon user (Yey!) . However, these pics were taken totally by a Medium Format Leica S2 camera. Thanks to Prakash of Leica for ‘racuning’ me (Thanks Bro!). Anyway, it was a nice quick portrait session which I managed to pull and I have to say the detail and sharpness of the Leica S2 is truly amazing. I wish I could post the full file here as the clarity is amazing. If you have RM90K to blow, then you can get yourself one of these babies. Anyway, enjoy the pics. Cheers peeps!

Events – Eisha’s Bday Party

Below are some pics which I took earlier for Celestina Anne’s daugther’s 1st Bday. I honestly didn’t have time to post this up in the past weeks as I have been up and about as well as shooting my baby a lot (which will appear in another post soon!). Predominantly, I am a wedding photographer, but I love shooting babies as they’re just unpredictable and the excitement of catching something on camera for the very first time is just inspiring. Happy belated bday Eisha! Anne, make sure you spend a lot of quality time with your kid!

Weddings – Chloe & Andrew

Amazing that I am covering many many chinese weddings these days. But I have to say that this one is one of the most elaborate tea ceremonies that I have seen. The tea lady is the most detailed and traditionally sound person I have met. She doesn’t speak a word of English though I can still remember Andrew and Chloe trying to figure out what the lady was saying when she was talking to them during the ceremony. But I think they had the most fun in their lifetime. They may have spent a lot of time figuring out the works of the wedding, but they sure know how to enjoy themselves during the ceremony and at the reception. All I can say is that you two make a grand couple…and Andrew, we don’t use ICQ anymore (he met Chloe over ICQ)…haha…twitter or facebook la bro! All the best in life to you both! Cheers!
